Colette Dallas — what's the dress code like and is it actually enforced?
We're planning our first visit to Colette Dallas and want to make sure we show up dressed right. Their website says 'upscale' but what does that actually mean? Will they turn us away for dark jeans? What are the women wearing?

Colette Dallas absolutely enforces their dress code and that's part of what makes it great. For men: button-down shirt, dress pants or dark fitted jeans (no rips), and dress shoes. No sneakers, no shorts, no graphic tees. For women: cocktail dress, skirt and nice top, or lingerie — really anything upscale and sexy. Most ladies change into something more daring once inside. We've seen guys get turned away at the door for athletic shoes, so don't risk it. The vibe is more upscale lounge than nightclub, so dress like you're going to a swanky cocktail party.

I'll add that Colette has cubbies inside where you can stash a change of clothes. A lot of the women arrive in a cocktail dress and switch to lingerie after they've been there an hour or so. Men can lose the button-down later too. The dress code is really about the entrance — once you're inside, things get more relaxed as the night goes on.
We got turned away our first time because my husband wore nice sneakers. Lesson learned. Now he keeps a pair of loafers in the car just for Colette nights. It's strict but honestly I appreciate it — keeps the atmosphere classy.
